My baby Kheysha is ready to turn up tonight! #goblue
Taking 100 leaders to the state capital tomorrow to meet w/ legislators…data entry isn’t the fun part.
Between my 26th bday, my “Bad Luck Brian” profile picture from the 7th grade & this Joey Bada$$ “1999” mixtape, I wish I could take a quick time travel back to those simpler times when my only worries were playing video games, basketball and trying to turn my Math homework in on time to Mrs. Hunter (we have jokes for days about math class at Fisher). Those small things matter so much now. Wishing that I would have went out for the AAU team with my best friends Dee & Dre,
waiting until the last day of school to tell Kelley Powell that I liked her, kicking myself for begging my mom to get me the And 1’s instead or the snakeskin Air Jordan 11s, watching movies at Shaina & Erica’s cribs all summer. All of those pieces make up a tapestry of memories so rich and vivid that it envelopes me with an almost deep regret that 2013 isn’t as colorful.
No, my days aren’t gray with sorrow and despair, but they aren’t as vibrant. The hustle and bustle of the
9 to 8 9 to 5 world makes me cherish those times much more deeply. But, I guess part of growing up and moving through space and time is building upon those memories and making new ones with the people you care about. Not holding on too tightly to the past that you become smothered and fixated by those old things, but embracing it enough so that you learn from it, I suppose.
Still not in the mood to write anything, but this “Mr. Burns Endorses Mitt Romney” video is great. For those of you who know me well, The Simpsons is my all time favorite show and politics is, for the most part, my life.
Life is so much better when they intersect.
